US Now Requests the Social Media Details of Visa Applicants

It is time to be extremely conscious of what you post on your social media pages or timelines if you've never been, except you have no intention of visiting the United States.
US Now Requests the Social Media Details of Visa Applicants

The U.S. Department of State is now requiring virtually all applicants for U.S. visas to submit their social media usernames, previous email addresses and phone numbers. This, according to apnews.com, is “a vast expansion of the Trump administration's enhanced screening of potential immigrants and visitors.”

According to US,

National security is our top priorities… We are constantly working to find mechanisms to improve our screening processes to protect U.S. citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United States.

The change, which was proposed in March 2018, is expected to affect about 15 million foreigners who apply for visas to enter the United States each year. This change has also been updated on the immigrant and non-immigrant visa forms of the U.S. Department of State.

If you intend to travel out of this country, then you should be mindful of what you post on your social media pages or timelines.
