This comment by Tersoo will educate you on the issue of tithing and sowing of seed in church

I got this from the comment section of a post titled "If sowing seed to your pastor is the way to receive breakthrough, Bill Gates would not have received his breakthrough - Reno Omokiri" on Linda Ikeji's Blog. This is a section of the statement made by Reno Omokiri. And here is a reader's (Tersoo's) thought on this controversial issue. You may learn one or two things from his/her comment. Read the comment after this photo.

I wouldn't have ventured into this but perhaps it's more important for me than not. First things first, we all agree that we are not under the LAW but under GRACE, yes it's true. So why should we continue to keep a particular law while still living under grace? "Now the LAW requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people..." Heb. 7:5.

Paying/collecting of tithes is a function of the LAW not GRACE. Also, "If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron? For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also." Heb.7:11-12. This is the very reason why our Lord Jesus Christ never collected tithes nor any of the early apostles. They were an example for us the contemporary church. They lived their lives in pure reverence to God Almighty, and the Holy Spirit moved in them without resistance because they were ALL for the ministry. They were never living according to the basis of a regulation (10%) of earnings. "All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need." Acts4:32-35.

So, the truth is most Pastors today are end time Antichrists, worshippers of Mammon, leading blind people astray. As a Pastor, you collect Tithes, Seeds etc from people in return for prosperity from God. Where has the Church of Jesus turned a business venture where people invest money or other things in return for prosperity? If God was a businessman, Jabez wouldn't have received a penny from Him. He sowed nothing nor tithe, he only prayed, and God answered him. Why are we making God appear like a stingy God who has no mercy? This is what Men of God should be doing in Ministry, "Do not take a purse or bag or sandals;...When you enter a house...Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you." Luke10:4-8.

However, they go out or in their church and are asking people to pay tithes and sow seeds. God does not want people to be poor in the church, so he makes others who have plenty to give to others who lack. Therefore His Spirit prompts his child to give to another who lacks so that all will have in abundance. "At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little." 2Cor.8:14-15. Let's look at this example, you are now an adult who is working and earning money, your mother is old and in the village. Would you pay her a visit and give her some money and thereafter expect her to pay it back to you when she gets it? You won't do that I guess. Why? Because you feel it's your responsibility to take care of her. Nice. Why then do you give money to the church, to support the ministry, and then expect God to pay you back in the form of blessings? Are you still taking care of your Father's Vineyard or you are a contractor waiting for your pay while working? Enough of this modern day mess in the church! Stop using the Church of Jesus Christ as a means of making money (deceitfully called blessings) through Tithes and Seeds! Remember when Jesus Christ cleared the Temple when people were buying and selling in it. If you don't have, then pray and take steps while listening to God's direction. If you have, then give generously and cheerfully to those in need and support evangelism and other things to the Glory of God; being joyful in heart as a vessel which God is using to bless the church and give glory to Him.
